Who is Charlie?
Charlie - the staffy jack
CEO - Pack Ambassador
Charlie is a middle-aged lady dog who has completely changed the course of her human’s life.
With a presence that feels quietly in tune with the world around her, she moves through life with a natural sense of calm, balance, and connection to the world that has profoundly shaped the path of the work that grew from loving her.
Through their bond, a rare depth of relationship emerged: one that is rooted in understanding, trust, respect and love.
This inspired a deep commitment to learning how dogs experience the world, so they can be offered the richest, most fulfilling lives possible.
Training, fulfilment, shared experiences, and thoughtful guidance have shaped Charlie into an exceptionally well-rounded, gentle, and beautifully well-adjusted companion.
Beyond her role at home and with the dogs we care for, she has shown, in previous roles, a remarkable sensitivity in supporting SEN children and has helped other dogs navigate behavioural challenges with calm confidence and at times consistent assertiveness.
She is not only an extraordinary dog, but the living inspiration behind a dedication to helping both dogs and their humans discover deeper harmony, alignment, and connection together.
Who is the human?
Mariana Amaro
Charlie’s assistant and treat distributor
At the heart of this work is a human who approaches dogs with deep empathy, patience, and respect for who they are as a species.
Shaped by the life-changing bond with Charlie, Mariana’s care is guided by holistic and balanced methods that prioritise the dog’s wellbeing and quality of life.
She believes this is primarily built on the foundation of a relationship, through trust, shared fulfilling experiences and loving leadership, and the rejection of anthropomorphising interpretations of dogs’ behaviour.
With a quiet and calm confidence that allows dogs to feel safe, seen, and understood, Mariana believes that when dogs are supported in this way, both they and their humans can flourish.
Her work is grounded in compassion, integrity, and a sincere commitment to helping every dog live a balanced, joyful life, while gently guiding owners toward the deeper connection they may not yet realise is possible.
